Where Are They Now?

Here’s a first look back on three of last year’s tournament stars.

DeAndre Daniels (Taft) – 2009 National Division MVP

Ranked 9th overall in the class of 2011. He now attends IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. This summer he tried to gain acceptance into John Calipari’s 2010 class at the University of Kentucky. He has taken additional courses since his sophomore year of high school and used his credits in an attempt to graduate from Taft and move on to the college ranks. However, the NCAA did not clear him in time and he was forced to enroll at the Florida Prep School.

Bryce Jones (Taft)

Attending USC and starting for the Trojans at the 2-guard spot. He is averaging 11.2 ppg and 3.1 rpg in about 28 minutes per game. As a freshman, he is USC’s 3rd leading scorer. The Trojans are 6-4 after upsetting a nationally ranked Texas squad.

James Johnson (Campbell Hall)

Attending Louisiana Tech this year. In very limited minutes as a freshman, he has totaled 32 points and 23 rebounds through 12 games.
