El Dorado 84 St. Joseph’s 51
This game was 33-30 El Dorado with 2 minutes left in the 2nd quarter, then the Sundevils exploded finishing with a 30 point advantage from that point. El Dorado’s big three of Charles White, Mitrell Clark, and Marcus Moreland finished with 26, 24, and 19 respectively. St. Joe’s Zach Perron once again led the way with 15 points.
LACES 76 Mission Hills 72
Jeremy Ford and Hunter Moore of Mission Hills combined for 58 (38 and 20 respectively) of their team’s 72 points. Sean Butler has 25 points for LACES, and John Moore added 12 of his own. LACES had the lead for the majority of the game but with 5 minutes left in 4th Mission Hills took a lead only to have LACES reclaim it with under 2 minutes left. Jeremy Ford had 24 1st half points and was on track to break the Christmas Classic scoring record, but he fell off in the second half.
Bishop O’Connell 54 Sylmar 49
A 1-point game at the end of the 3rd quarter, O’Connell’s discipline led to a 5 point victory. Devin Cole led the way with 13 points and Kendall Marshall (committed to UNC) added 11 points. Gary Ricks handled the scoring with a game-high 22 points and UCLA signee Tyler Honeycutt has 8 points, 8 boards, and 6 blocks.
Campbell Hall 73 Los Osos 67
With the Grizzlies leading after the third, the Vikings of Campbell Hall came back and won with an impressive 22 fourth quarter. James “Deuce” Johnson led Campbell Hall with 27 points, most of which came in the paint. Keegan Hornbuckle (committed to Colorado) added 14 points for the Vikings. Los Osos junior point guard Kendall Williams (UCLA) scored 26 points, only six coming in the second half, as he sat the last three minutes due to an altercation with his coach.
Fremont 64 Campolindo 23
The Pathfinders of Fremont had control all 32 minutes. DePaul signee Tony Freeland’s dominant performance inside and flamboyant dunks powered Fremont over Campolindo. Freeland finished with 18 points and 6 blocks. Chris Dyer led Campolindo with 8 points.
Taft 64 Sheldon 60 (OT)
Toreadors’ sharpshooter Michael Williams was deadly from deep with 22 points with 15 coming from three pointers. UNLV signee Justin Hawkins came up big with all 14 of his points coming after halftime and 7 in overtime. Marcus Jackson and Tramiane Moore had 20 and 15 points, respectively. Super sophomore Darius Nelson added 13 for Sheldon which shocked Taft early and stuck with them forcing the game into overtime on the last possession.
Rio Americano 60 Mission Prep 53
Mardell Johnson and Cal Poly signee Kyle Odister led the Raiders with 18 and 16 points, respectively. Robbie Souza had 18 for the host Royals, while Jerry Casey had 15 points. Mission pulled within 2 points twice during the 4th quarter but Rio Americano held them off with clutch free throw shooting.
Bishop Montgomery 57 Kentwood 48
Mike Panaggio and Justin Cobbs led the way for Montgomery with 15 points each. The #1 junior in the country Josh Smith was held to 10 points so wingman Tre Tyler led Kentwood with 20 points. After trading leads for the majority of the game, Montgomery pulled away in the final quarter.
Cody Terry of Taft won the Dunk Contest, but Tyler Honeycutt of Sylmar (committed to UCLA and the #29 Senior in the country) threw down the more impressive dunks in the Dunk-Off.

Devin stepped up big, handling the ball at times when Marshall sat because of a technical foul, and scoring under pressure in the 4th quarter.

O’Connell better be ready on Monday night…
They weren’t as good as I expected them to be, but maybe they just had an off night. Marshall didn’t impress me at all.
It isn’t easy to fly across the country and then play a game… maybe with a few more hours on California soil, they will have a little more bounce in their step on Monday night
I expect them too, and Sylmar has some shooters and plenty of athletes so it was a tough matchup.
BOC is also a majority 10th and 11th grade team, with only 3 seniors on their roster. Which is pretty impressive itself.
David Eismeier was much better than I expected and I was pretty impressed. Stats aren’t available online, I wish they were but we couldn’t set up a workable program to upload them. We are still trying.
